Pilaf Rice

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup of diced carrots
  • 1 cup of chopped white onion
  • ¼ cup of finely chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cups of basmati rice
  • 2 1/2 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of QBA Flavor Fine Green Salt

Preparation

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil.
  2. Add the carrot and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic and onion, and cook until translucent. This is your Mediterranean sofrito.
  4. Add 2 1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
  5. When the water is boiling, add the rice.
  6. Add Fine Green Salt, stir everything well once, cover and cook over low heat until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked (approx. 15–18 min).
  7. Turn off the heat, let it rest for 5 minutes and fluff it up with a fork before serving.
