Pilaf Rice
Ingredients
- ¾ cup of diced carrots
- 1 cup of chopped white onion
- ¼ cup of finely chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- 2 1/2 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon of QBA Flavor Fine Green Salt
Preparation
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil.
- Add the carrot and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the garlic and onion, and cook until translucent. This is your Mediterranean sofrito.
- Add 2 1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
- When the water is boiling, add the rice.
- Add Fine Green Salt, stir everything well once, cover and cook over low heat until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked (approx. 15–18 min).
- Turn off the heat, let it rest for 5 minutes and fluff it up with a fork before serving.
